New reality on a new galaxy
This piece is written by my dear friend, Stephanie B. We met through The Narrative Method, which is an online writing salon that supports creative compassionate development of oneself and community. Stephanie has a lyrically powerful voice. Enjoy listening to her words:
A reality of equals, where the small become tall
And the mighty, the brutal ones, they all fall
A reality where wrong is wrong;
And right is upheld
Where the good things taught when we’re young
Come to fruition, truth has won
To treat others the way we want to be treated
Reigns supreme, and each other are regularly greeted
This new reality conjured up on planet earth
Lying awake at night dreaming of ideas to birth
Millennia of prayers from the young and old
Crying tears, shouting fears of the meek and the bold
Pleading for mercy, why is this world so cold?
To waking up on a new galaxy!
Smiles contagious, a new reality
Pain is no longer the order of the day
Wishes come true, we know our own way
We’re not flailing in the dark
We have no scars or marks
Because we harked, the lessons learned on earth
Learned so that when we’re rebirthed
All of that is behind us, no longer true
We’ve been given a chance to start a new
Doesn’t feel like a rat race or destined for failure
The atmosphere is one of constant surrender
Of ego, moodiness, greed, force, or even divorce
Nothing in this new galaxy would even tame a horse
For everything is allowed to roam free
We don’t have dominion over anything, and never did
Harmony is the way of living – flowing like liquid
Sometimes on this planet people show up
They weren’t invited – kicked out of the club
For what they did on earth – all they did was flub
Up, over and over again, some big some small
But none of them even tried –
busy reaping the rewards while others died
That’s how it was on the backwards planet
Those that did the most damage
Seemed to party the hardest
Have the most – brag and boast
And those that had little or nothing
Had all the faith –
Now they’re in this new galaxy and receiving all the grace
