Northern Thailand and The Elephants
Help support rescued elephants living in their natural habitat.
Asian Elephants have been exploited for generations. When logging with elephants became illegal in 1980, the elephant tourist industry came into being. It breaks our hearts to see these majestic beings used without consideration for the pleasure of human beings. We want all elephants to live free where they were meant to be;
in the forest.
Yoga and Animal Rights Alliance was founded with the idea that every retreat offered would enlighten the participants to the place, the people, the culture, and a specific animal impacted by human interference, that our experience would be respectfully engaging with the community, supporting their health and well being and upon return, we could be advocates for the incredible animals and forests that need protection.
You have the option of joining us on our yearly 10 day retreat (which entails 5 days in retreat and 5 days with the elephants)
or at anytime booking a 2-5 day trip with the elephants
This is a win win story
Rather than centering humans, we center the elephants and are in direct relationship with the karen village who benefits from our support. We benefit from the humbling and precious experience. We walk away with awareness that provides us with agency to advocate for the elephants, the forest, and the indigenous people.
An experience of a lifetime:
Observing free living elephants
in the cloud forests of Thailand
Hosted by a karen hill tribe family, your stay is authentic and connecting. Their culture is beautiful; deeply intertwined with nature and the elements. They are the original people of these mountains. our participation supports their well being and community. They care for us by opening up their home, providing meals, and sharing their way of life with generosity and kindness. There is time to walk through the village and meet the community, learn about weaving and basket making, visit the temple and the school. It’s always an adventure with unexpected surprises that make hearts open.
Each day we venture out in to the forest to walk with the elephants and learn of their incredible skills and ways. We will learn about the challenges they face, as well as the importance of protecting their habitat. We work with the elephants best interest in mind. Our vision is to live in a world where all captive elephants return to their home.
