Day Retreat at Liminalia for The Elephants

  • Liminalia Retreat Center Vernonia Oregon United States (map)

Retreat for a day in a sacred place called Liminalia. Nestled in a cedar forest surrounded by creeks, we get to celebrate the budding energy of Spring rising towards expansive Summer. The natural world is the essence and makeup of who we are. This day long retreat will nurture you in such a wholistic way, as we make space for reconnection through the empowering practice of Qi Gong, cultivating energy through movement, sharing in nourishing food, gathering our voices together with mantra and song, meditation, and devoting time to compassionate action towards ourselves and the global community.

How to get there:

Liminalia is located about 40 miles west of Portland (1.5 hour drive) outside of the town of Vernonia. Routes:
From Portland/ Beaverton- follow 26 west
From North Portland- take highway 30 in the back way
From Seattle- there is a cutoff off I-5 through Longview

Once registered, you will receive more detailed instructions and carpooling is always encouraged.

Suggested offering: $75 - $500

No one turned away.

Your donation (or communication with me) saves your spot.

This is a fundraiser for the 8 elephants returned to their natural habitat in the cloud mountain forests of Northern Thailand. We are supporting a hill tribe village and working on bringing 2 more elephants back home from a Burmese logging camp.

Fundraising for the 8 elephants YARA supports in Northern Thailand. All proceeds will ensure these beautiful ladies stay in their natural habitat with their family.

Schedule:

10 am Arrival

Once everyone has arrived, we will gather in the gorgeous studio space to have a movement practice centered around the elements. It will conclude with a forest walk along the creek as a means for meditation and communing with the elements.

12:30 Lunch

We will enjoy a nourishing mid day meal together either in the Main House, which is incredible in it’s design and thoughfulness or perhaps, weather permitting, we will eat outside by the creek at the community picnic table.

2pm

There will be a presentation about the family of elephants returned to the cloud forest of Thailand due to YARA’s support, as well as, basic information about the complexities of this challenging task to transform the exploitative relationship humans have planet into an ethical healing one.

The last session will be focused on cherishing our voice through fun vocal exercises, toning, chanting, breathing. When our voices are empowered and we are embodied, anything is possible.

4pm Closing

*There’s also a sauna & farm critters too!
