Ayur means Life. Dhehi is nourishment and we chant to the various aspects of being in form. We ask for the energetic movements of our body to be nourished, our senses of perception to be nourished, and our relationships to be nourished.
There is always movement throughout our body. We consume on many different levels; physically, intellectually, emotionally, and energetically. We can recognize this in the air we breath in and the elimination after we digest foods. We understand that we take in energy and information through our senses of perception, our figuring minds and we our nourished by all our relationships. The outer world and the inner world weave an intricate and intimate tapestry.
This chant acknowledges the winds of our bodies invoking ease with the currents that move us through life. We also acknowledge the senses of perception such as our eyesight, hearing, our voice, and our mind. The chant concludes with the acknowledgement that the well being of the individual self is dependent on the well being of all others.
The Ayurmantra Explained:
Let us listen to the story that is cultivating presence and service to others, a story where we all communicate clearly and listen openly, where we have an always widening perspective by paying attention to the details.
May we return to the ritual and storytelling that is our duty as human beings. May we see the clues that are embedded in our daily lives that will show us the way. May we bring in the good luck and relinquish the bad. May it be so.
