This will be held at Deep Waters Space in Portland
Lovingkindness is a state of being that arises when we put concerted effort into cultivating four qualities, which in the Buddhist tradition are called the Brahma-Viharas. They are Friendliness, Compassion, Joy, and Equanimity. This work brings deep meaning to all of our relations beginning with ourselves and extending out from there.
In this workshop we will discuss the concepts of lovingkindness as well as putting it into practice through meditation and mantra practice. There will be a writing component that will nurture our creativity and agency in living a life of lovingkindness.
By committing to this workshop you are devoting yourself to diminishing selfish motive while truly cultivating love and compassion for yourself which is the only way we can bring forth a world of harmony and respect for life. True happiness and a meaningful life come from generosity and service. This is the outcome of cultivating lovingkindness. This time will empower you to be an advocate, to live with integrity, and to handle the challenges of living with more ease.
